Chandigarh 11th March, 2025 || TC - The Electoral Literacy Club and Alumni Association of DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh inaugurated a two day Mock Parliament,Jansansad, on March 11,2025. Former Principal K.S.Arya presided over the function. Mr Sanjay Tandon was the chief guest. Principal JS Khatri welcomed the guests. The Nodal Officer of Electoral Literacy Club who is also the Dean, Alumni Association apprised the audience about the event. Approximately hundred students are taking part in the proceedings. The participants have divided themselves into the ruling and the opposition parties.
The event is taking place in the Main auditorium of the college which has been converted into a Parliament. The proceedings started with the entry and address of the President of India who addressed the House. Besides the Question hour, zero hour, the participants showed the impeachment of the Vice- President in the Rajya Sabha where the Vice-president defended himself. The impeachment proceedings continued in the Lok Sabha where the impeachment process could but pass. Principal Arya complimented the students,the Principal and the staff for putting an exemplary show. Mr. Sanjay Tandon also appreciated the performance of the students. Dr.Kanwalpreet and her organising team of Dr.Kriti, Dr.Rohil alongwith students Kashish, Annum, Anmol, Divyansh,Bhoomi, Charul,Akshit among others were praised by the distinguished guests as well as the Principal of the college.
