Chandigarh, 9 Nov || After assuming the post of Transport Minister in the Naib Saini government of Haryana, Anil Vij, popularly known as Gabbar, is seen in constant motion. After becoming a minister, he inspected the water, sanitation arrangements etc. at the Ambala bus stand and ordered the officials present on the spot to improve all the arrangements.
Transport Minister Anil Vij said the government will add 650 more new buses to the transport fleet keeping in mind the amenities of passengers. These will include 150 AC buses and 500 non-AC buses. The new buses will conform to environmental standards, so as to prevent environmental pollution.
Anil Vij said that continuous efforts are being made to strengthen the transport system through public transport. The new buses in the Roadways fleet will be based on the BS-6 model, which will be operated for several states including New Delhi. Passengers will get facilities like mobile charging facility, AC, comfortable seats in these buses.
Earlier, he had instructed the transport department officials that no roadways bus will stop at private dhabas during the journey. Along with this, he instructed the roadways employees to stay in uniform.
