Chandigarh, 3 Dec || The UT Administration has made tight security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab Engineering College (PEC) in Sector 12 here on Tuesday. Around 4,000 police personnel and 10 paramilitary units have been deployed across the city to maintain law and order.
The Prime Minister will arrive at the old airport around 11:25 am. From there, he is expected to fly by an MI-17 helicopter to the Rajindra Park helipad, Sector 1, and then travel by road to PEC, which is less than 1 km away.
Home Minister Amit Shah, who arrived in the city on Monday evening, will also attend the event along with Punjab Governor-cum-UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria and senior officials from the Administration and Police Department.
Newly recruited IPS officers from across the country have been invited to witness a presentation by the Chandigarh Police on the integration and functioning of new criminal law applications.
