Fog alert in Punjab today! The air of Chandigarh became toxic due to stubble burning

Chandigarh, 11 Nov || The first dense fog of winter has hit many places in Punjab today. Dense fog is visible on the roads. At the same time, the passers-by coming on the roads are facing a lot of trouble due to this dense fog. Pedestrians are moving very slowly on their vehicles due to thick fog. If we talk about the weather of the last few years, the change of weather is always seen from October-November. But this time there is no change in the weather.

But now some change has been seen in the weather. Dense fog is being seen in many districts of Punjab in the morning. Along with this, on the other hand, due to stubble burning in Punjab, the air of Chandigarh has become toxic. Air quality is deteriorating. People are having trouble breathing. The situation has become more serious than in Delhi.

Chandigarh's AQI was recorded at 341 at 5 am on Monday. Although the air of all the cities of Punjab is also polluted, Mandi Gobindgarh is in the worst condition. An AQI of 270 is recorded here. Along with this, the cold has started increasing in the state. The average maximum temperature has dropped by 0.4 degrees in 24 hours. It was 1.7 degrees below normal. The highest temperature was recorded at 31 degrees in Bathinda.

Along with this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for dense fog in many places today. Due to this the visibility is getting affected. However, Chandigarh's AQI surpassed Delhi's on Sunday. Chandigarh's AQI reached 339, while Delhi's AQI was recorded at 334.
