Amritsar, 2 Dec || Former Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal arrived at Sri Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar on a wheelchair today, ahead of the much-anticipated Tankhaiya verdict.
The Akali leader, seen in a wheelchair, was accompanied by several senior SAD leaders and party supporters as he made his way to the highest temporal seat of the Sikh community.
The visit comes amid significant speculation regarding the decision by the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the charges against Sukhbir Singh Badal. The matter pertains to alleged violations of Sikh religious norms during his tenure as Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab. Badal had earlier sought forgiveness and expressed his willingness to accept the Takht’s directive with humility.
The announcement of the Tankhaiya verdict has drawn significant attention from Sikh devotees and political observers alike. The Akal Takht Jathedar is expected to issue a directive that could impact not only Badal's political future but also the perception of religious discipline within the Sikh community.
The SAD leadership has faced criticism over incidents involving decisions perceived as contradictory to Sikh principles. Many within the community view the upcoming verdict as a pivotal moment in maintaining the sanctity of Sikh traditions.
