Chandigarh, January 31 || TC - Under the able leadership of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the state is reaching new heights in the field of education. The recently released ASER-2024 Report has proven that the visionary policies and relentless efforts of the state government are yielding positive results. When education was disrupted across the country due to COVID-19, the Haryana government took swift and effective measures to improve schools. In this journey of educational reform, the government adopted a strong policy framework and precise strategies.

The increasing enrollment in government schools reflects the public trust in the education system. The improvement in students' literacy and numerical proficiency has placed Haryana well ahead of the national average. This achievement is not only a matter of pride for the state but also serves as an inspiration for the entire country.

As per the ASER-2024 Report, students from Haryana have performed better than the national average. The literacy and numerical proficiency levels in Classes 3, 5, and 8 in Haryana government schools have surpassed the national average (including both government and private schools).

The state’s board exam results have also been remarkable. In 2023, the Class 10 pass percentage was 57.73 percent, which increased to 94 percent in 2024. Similarly, the Class 12 results improved from 80.66 percent  to 83.35 percent. This progress is not just limited to numbers; it also lays a strong foundation for a brighter future for millions of students across the state.

The government has taken several concrete steps to improve the education sector. Each teacher received at least 15-16 days of specialized training during the 2024-25 academic year. Regular monitoring of all schools was conducted, providing better guidance to both teachers and students. The progress of teachers and students was tracked using digital technologies, mobile apps, and online dashboards. Additionally, the distribution of academic materials for all classes for the 2024-25 session was successfully completed on time in April-May 2024, at the beginning of the academic session.

The government also placed special emphasis on improving basic infrastructure in schools. About 84 percent of schools have playgrounds, significantly higher than the national average of 68 percent. Similarly, 74.6 percent of schools have a teacher-student ratio (PTR) better than the national average of 63 percent. Furthermore, in 2024-25, the government completed the construction of 65 library rooms, with 169 more under construction, for which a total budget of Rs. 30.27 crore has been allocated. The availability of clean drinking water is over 80 percent, surpassing the national average of 77 percent. In terms of toilet availability and usage, Haryana matches the national average. Notably, the availability and usage of girls’ toilets in schools have consistently increased over the years, exceeding the national average.

The efforts made under Haryana Government’s NIPUN Haryana and the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) have positioned the state as a leader in the education sector. Due to the government's vision and continuous efforts, Haryana has now become an inspiration for the entire nation in the field of education. These efforts will continue to ensure that every child in the state receives quality education and that Haryana continues to set new benchmarks in education.

We are committed to provide quality education and building a strong foundation for a bright future-CM

The Chief Minister said that education is the government's top priority as it lays the foundation for the overall development and bright future of the state. He said that providing quality education to every child is the government's responsibility, and all necessary resources, facilities, and policy reforms are being implemented to achieve this. The government's goal is to ensure that every student in Haryana not only becomes academically proficient but is also prepared for global competition, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
